Change an image's pixel dimensions directly in your browser — by exact width and height, or by a percentage of the original. Locking the aspect ratio keeps the image from looking stretched or squashed; turning it off lets you set width and height independently.
Resizing up (making an image larger than its original dimensions) stretches the existing pixels rather than adding real detail, so very large enlargements can look soft. Resizing down is generally safe at any amount. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, and WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Do my images get uploaded anywhere?+
No — resizing happens entirely in your browser using the canvas and image-decoding APIs already built into it. Your image is never sent to a server.
Can I resize by exact pixels or by percentage?+
Both — switch between "By dimensions" (enter an exact width and height) and "By percentage" (scale to a percentage of the original size).
What does locking the aspect ratio do?+
With it on, changing the width automatically adjusts the height to match the original proportions (and vice versa), so the image doesn't look stretched or squashed. Turn it off to set width and height independently.
Can I make an image larger than the original?+
Yes, though the tool will note that enlarging stretches the existing pixels rather than adding real detail — very large enlargements can come out looking soft. Resizing down doesn't have this issue.
Can I change the format while resizing?+

Will a photo taken on my phone come out sideways?+
